Start with FAFSA free application for federal student aid go to studentaid.gov to apply for federal student aid. some funds are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, so apply early. KCC's FAFSA code is 007690. 3 ways to pay for college Free money - grants are usually based on financial need. apply for fafsa to see if you qualify. they don't need to be repaid. scholarships are another award that doesn't have to be repaid. Apply for KCC scholarships at www.kcc.edu/scholarships from Oct. 1- May 1. Tip: never pay anyone to apply for a scholarship. Earned money - a work-study job lets you earn money while you're in school. apply for FAFSA to see if you qualify . off-campus jobs are also an option. Borrowed money - student loans are in investment in your future. loans have to be repaid with interest. KCC has a repayment plan available too. Free financial aid help.
